Have you ever solved a really hard problem, only to find out you solved the wrong problem? In a complex system we often need to examine a problem from multiple perspectives. Only then can we see how various parts of the system are contributing to the problem. We will employ the Coach’s Optical Refractor approach to explore a complex problem through seven lenses. This approach, created by Elena Aguilar, will help you better understand the system and find equitable solutions to the right problems.

Our Presenter:
Paula Espinoza, M.Ed. is a seasoned education administrator and scrum master. She is an inspired leader both professionally and within community organizations. She has over 20 years of experience as a K-12 teacher, administrator and coach. She currently serves as an improvement advisor at Marshall Street Initiatives, coaching teams of leaders on continuous improvement in schools across the country. She is also her team’s scrum master, where she promotes continuous improvement within the team. She has utilized agile methodologies in her work since becoming a CSM and CSPO in 2015. She is passionate about applying agile methods in the education space.
