A 2017 Cornell University study of women in male-dominated fields found that they often experienced: doubts about competence, mistreatment, and a lack of voice in their workplaces. It can be difficult to be ourselves because we want to “play nice” or “appear competent.” In this session, you’ll learn why it’s important to show up more authentically at work and how to do it! By doing so we can hold the key to our own empowered destiny. Our Presenter: A native of Taiwan, Diana Hu (she/her) started her leadership journey at the age of 6, reigning over her neighborhood streets. Since 2014 she has worked in technology groups dominated by a patriarchal culture where she was often the only minority. Her work titles have included: Geospatial Development Lead, Senior GIS Developer, and Agile Coach. She helps teams adopt agile mindsets as well as improved agile and DevOps practices. Diana speaks on: Non Violent Communication, cross-cultural collaboration, transformational leadership, agile coaching, technology, and systems thinking. In 2022, Diana started Azimuth Coaching to help women and marginalized groups shine in STEM.
