Privacy Policy
Most privacy policies on the web start with "Your privacy is important to us" because that's how the Better Business Bureau's boilerplate privacy policy starts. To us, that sounds a lot like "Dear Valued Customer," so we're actually writing our own privacy policy. We hate spam, spyware and intrusive tracking cookies as much as you do, so here's the low down on what we collect, where we keep it, what we use it for, and how you can tell us to take a hike:
We don't buy, sell, rent or share contact data, and we never will, short of a government subpoena--and we'd think twice even then.
When you contact us via our contact page, we receive email from you. Please be aware that this is a public communication, and refrain from including any information you wish to remain confidential. If you need to discuss confidential company information, give us a heads up (you can even send us an NDA) and we'll take the necessary precautions to ensure that our conversation is private.
Mailing List (aka Newsletter)
We use MailChimp to maintain and administer our newsletter mailing list. The Chimp rocks. His privacy policy may be found here. We had to go through an extensive vetting process to use the MailChimp service, as those folks are fanatical about spam prevention. The Chimp's high level of privacy fanaticism is one of the reasons we chose to use his service.
When you sign up for our newsletter via our website, we collect your email address, period. Why would we need to know that your real name is Eggbert? So we can put "Dear Eggbert" atop our newsletter? That would be cheesy.
When you personally hand us a business card at a networking event, we will add your full contact information to our database and send you a newsletter, because we assume you want to hear from us. You can opt out at any time.
Course Registration
When you register for an Agile Learning Labs course via EventBrite, your credit card information does not pass to Agile Learning Labs. We receive only the contact information you volunteered during registration. You may be contacted by email or phone regarding details for the class. You will also be added to our mailing list. Your contact information will not be shared with other course registrants unless you explicitly agree to join an alumni list.
Why do you need my phone number when I register for a class?
On rare occasions, we have needed to reach students in one of our classes too alert them to a last minute change related to the venue, a course cancellation due to instructor illness, etc. We will never call you unless the information is vital and timely, and we do not share your phone number or any other personal contact info with anyone, ever.
Opt-Out
However you came to be on our mailing list, you will always be shown an opt nout link in every newsletter communication. You won't have to ask us twice.
Credit Card Information
We trust payment processing to folks who have made it their sole business to handle credit card transactions securely. When you pay for services or register for training online, you will be doing so via eventbrite and/or paypal. Their privacy policies may be found here and here.
As a paypal merchant, we have the ability to directly accept credit card payments in person or by phone, in which case we will collect your credit card information for one-time entry into paypal. We do not store credit card information, electronically or otherwise.
This site is owned and operated by The Technical Management Institute's Agile Learning Labs. TMI is our legal entity, so if you have purchased training from us, we may appear on your credit card statement as TMI.
Tracking and Cookies
We use Google Analytics to aggregate anonymous information to help us improve the relevance of our web content. What does that mean? It means we log each visit to each web page on our site, recording the information your browser volunteers: date, time, IP address, and the referring site, if any. Most websites employ some kind of analytics, and we don't do anything that isn't industry standard. But if you want to permanently disable Google Analytics' ability to "see" you when you visit any website that uses it, here is a hack for doing so.
We don't currently use any other tracking or session cookies, and if we decide in future that cookies will help us provide you with a better web experience, we will update this privacy policy accordingly.
Security
Security is of paramount concern when we choose our hosting, technology and service partners. We promise not to volunteer your data to third parties, but we cannot guarantee our site nor our servers to be impenetrable by hackers.

We make no representations nor warranties about the policies and practices of sites that are linked to from our site, and urge you to consult their privacy policies directly when you visit them. If you think we have linked to a site whose privacy policy is questionable, please do contact us and let us know at info@agilelearninglabs.com.
Special Notification for California Residents
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the Shine The Light law, permits our clients who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year.
